Welcome PDF Print E-mail

Welcome! On this site, you can find opportunities to lace up your tennis shoes and join other San Mateo County residents to experience the benefits of car-free streets. Did you attend Streets Alive 2010? If so, you can also share your Streets Alive stories and submit your photos to give others a glimpse into what you did.

Save the date for Streets Alive 2011 on Sunday, May 1st!

Resident,

Planning is currently underway for the second annual Streets Alive in San Mateo County.  The idea is simple: leave the car at home and walk, bike or skate to a local Streets Alive event.  All across the county, we are creating a movement to open streets up for healthy activities.

There are many ways you can get involved and help make May 1st a success:

  • Partner with your city officials to  get your city signed up to be a part of Streets Alive 2011
  • Join as a sponsor – with a cash, in-kind or activity donation
  • Become a volunteer
  • Help us get the word out – tell everyone you know about Streets Alive, ask them what activities they would like to see, and help make it happen
  • Sign up to receive Streets Alive updates by clicking the subscribe button to the right

I hope you will join us on May 1 for Streets Alive 2011!

Sincerely,

Carole Groom
Supervisor, 2nd District
County of San Mateo
