Bring your bike, scooter, skateboard, rollerblades, stroller, stilts, walking shoes - whatever you'd like to your nearest Streets Alive! Parks Alive! celebration. Cities hosting events will also coordinate free and low-cost activities. All events take place on on Saturday, May 4th or Sunday, May 5th as indicated.

2013 Activities Belmont (Saturday, May 4th and Sunday, May 5th) Saturday, May 4th - Bike Rodeo Sunday, May 5th - Farmer's Market Celebrate Streets Alive! Parks Alive! on May 4th by participating in a Bike Rodeo at Barrett Community Center. Learn bicycle skills, make sure your helmet is fitted properly and participate in a slalom course. Bring the whole family for a day of bicycle fun! Then on Sunday, May 5th, come by the South Caltrain Lot for the Farmer's Market, fitness demonstrations and some great giveaways! Burlingame (Sunday, May 5th) Park Road, between Burlingame Ave and Howard Ave On Sunday, May 5th, stop by the Burlingame Farmer's Market where Burlingame Parks & Recreation will be hosting kids' activities and interactive class demonstrations in honor of Streets Alive! Parks Alive! Pick up some fresh fruits and vegetables, and participate in some fun physical activity! Cañada Road Bicycle Sunday (Sunday, May 5th) Cañada Road, Between Highway 92 and Filoli entrance Most Sundays you can enjoy car-free biking, walking and skating on Cañada Road between the Filoli entrance and Highway 92. For Streets Alive! Parks Alive! a special Get Ready for Bike to Work and Bike to School Day event will be held at the Pulgas Water Temple from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. This is a good chance for you or your child to brush up on bike handling skills. Basic bike fit and maintenance tips will also be available. Participants will need to park at either end of Bicycle Sunday and ride their bikes to pulgas Water Temple. The Webcor riders will be riding on Canada Road to help you out if you have trouble on your way. Offered by the San Mateo County Parks Foundation in partnership with REI and the San Mateo County Office of Education Safe Routes to School Program. Pollicita Field & Gym Join Colma Recreation Staff as we enjoy a day filled with field and gym activities for you and your family at T.R. Pollicita Middle School. Play soccer, basketball, kickball, relay races and all your favorite field games at the new gym and field. We will barbeque hot dogs and hamburgers, provide refreshments, and all the equipment needed for your family to enjoy the day. Beginning at 11:00 a.m., the campus will be open to the public for wellness screenings, tours of the campus, a mini farmer's market and other health-related activities.
El Granada/Coastside (Sunday, May 5th) Quarry Park 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Enjoy the outdoors, the view of the Princeton Harbor and the great play equipment at Quarry Park, a 40 acre community park located off Avenue Cabrillo in El Granada. Ryan Memorial, Erckenbrack and Dog/Boat Parks You are invited to enjoy Foster City parks, the levee/pedway and Leo Ryan Park for the entire May 4th and 5th weekend! Pick up a Foster City Neighborhood Walking Map at the Recreation Center, located at 650 Shell Boulevard, and at your leisure, go for a walk with friends or visit a local park with the family. Half Moon Bay (Saturday, May 4th) Cunha Intermediate School Bring your bike to Cunha Intermediate for a range of bicycle related activities in honor of Streets Alive! Parks Alive! and Bike to School/Work Day. Participate in a Bicycle Safety Obstacle Course and Rock Climbing Wall. Create smoothies using your own energy on the blender bikes. AND Cunha students can enter into a Bike Giveaway - the drawing will be at noon!

Millbrae (Sunday, May 5th) Broadway, between Meadow Glen Avenue and Taylor Boulevard On Sunday, May 5th, join us for a "free" event for all. It will be a car-free, active and healthy community celebration, with something for everyone! Menlo Park (Saturday, May 4th) Bedwell Bayfront Park On Saturday, May 4th, the City of Menlo Park Community Services Department will be hosting its Annual Kite Day from noon to 3 p.m. at Bedwell Bayfront Park. Bring your kite and enjoy the day. Or, for $6, you can purchase a kite, a hotdog, drink, and chips or an apple. The event is free; all ages are welcome. The Park is a former landfill site that features open spaces, views of the Bay, an orienteering course and hiking trails. Redwood City (Saturday, May 4) Red Morton Community Center Come by Red Morton Community Center for Parks Alive Camp Fair, hosted by Redwood City Parks and Recreation. There will be an inflatable play land and summer camp providers on hand to answer questions!
Celebrate Streets Alive! Parks Alive! by going on a San Bruno Parks Scavenger Hunt Challenge! Use the clues on the attached flyer to identify all the San Bruno parks and take a photo with your family when you're there. Once you have found all the parks, turn in your photos at the Recreation Center in exchange for free swim passes for each member of your family who participated in the scavenger hunt. San Mateo (Saturday, May 4) Ryder Park Celebrate with the City of San Mateo Parks and Recreation Department AND explore your local park! Bring your bike and take a tour around Seal Point Park with a San Mateo Park Ranger. Climb a rock wall. Enjoy wildlife shows and exhibits by CuriOdyssey Mobile Museum, the Marine Science Institute and the Fur, Scales and Tails! South San Francisco (Saturday, May 4) Orange Memorial Park and Centennial Way The South San Francisco Parks and Recreation Department has planned a variety of activities for all ages and interests at Orange Memorial Park and along Centennial Way from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Choose from a variety of free activities including; Zumba, Boot Camp, Salsa Dancing, Preschool Family Wheel Day, Classical Stretch, Leisure Walk, Recreation Swim, Children's Sports Area (basketball and soccer), and more. All activities are free! It will be Opening Day for the Farmers Market, too. You can also participate in the 5K Run for the Schools fundraiser with the SSF Unified School District.
